I stepped into the world of construction mid way thru 2014. After a series of unfortunate events, I found myself with the opportunity to truly start over and pursue a new passion. At 23 — with little research & no experience — I jumped head first into Construction by Purchasing a Foreclosure. I self taught myself everything I could and successfully sold this home for a Profit. The success drove me to keep going: I bought a second Property and inherited my parents’ home shortly after. Over the years I began to feel real passion for my work. Real reward for hard work. It wasn’t all smooth sailing though.

Construction is extremely corrupt, I quickly educated myself about Codes, Permits, Contractors, and the realities of exceeding building code requirements. My learning curve was steep, I lost a substantial amount of money to bad contractors and shady outfits. By the end of 2017 I had Completed my foreclosure endeavor; walking away with some scars, but a lot of growth.

Selling both homes and Moving back to Hawaii was always my end goal.

By November 2018 I had found my way back to Hawaii — landing in Volcano. Shortly after the move, I apprenticed for a Local Furniture Master: Ryan of Modern Habitats Hawaii.
He took everything I had learned on my own and taught me how to apply it with precision. His guidance and structure gave me the clarity I needed. Working with Ryan truly changed my path in life — I just didn’t realize it at the time.
Working with Ryan, I unexpectedly reawakened that passion. Eventually back on my own, back to Remodeling, I put my head down, and put in the work. I’ve remodeled Homes from Honokaa to Naalehu. One Commission after another. One Bathroom after another. After 10 years of remodeling, it was finally time to move on.

For me it was very clear, “My Passion was alive when I was working in my shop.”

In August 2025 I officially Launched “Adage Woodworks” — A furniture business built in dedication to my late father.
